Cairns - Travel Capital Of Tropical North Australia
Cairns is a popular tourist destination in northern Queensland, Australia, one of the main centers where the rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. Central to many of the major attractions of north Queensland, is the ideal base to explore this tropical region of Australia. Originally founded in 1876 as a backdoor to the Goldfields North Queensland, Cairns is now the international gateway to northern Queensland. With a population of 100,000, the Cairns region offers a healthy and relaxed lifestyle with the local economy based on tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, mining and fishing. Cairns International Airport is a first point of entry for travelers both in Australia and internationally. Cairns is surrounded to the north, west and south by magnificent forests, many of which are protected by the World Heritage List. To the east is the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea. The richness of the natural beauty of the Cairns region provides the perfect backdrop for a wide range of activities such as swimming, snorkeling, diving, sailing, water skiing, rafting, hiking, fishing, balloon rides or just to enjoy the beautiful scenery on a drive outside the city in Mossman Gorge, Port Douglas, Kuranda or Nandroya waterfalls. The Esplanade, Cairns, is where restaurants, cafes, markets, discos, pubs and shopping malls, and is also the starting point for excursions and cruise most of the island reefs. Accommodation is abundant in Cairns, the Esplanade and the surrounding area offers quality accommodation ranging from luxury apartments and five star hotels to caravan parks and camping. Located in a tropical environment, water activities available in Cairns are endless. When I leave the beautiful waters of the Great Barrier Reef and islands, canoeing or jet-ski in the bays and lakes, a cruise or a ride on a speedboat dynamic random, there are adventure tours available to suit all tastes . If fishing is your passion, Cairns is a brilliant destination in any season. It offers excellent fishing opportunities for all fishing areas. Barramundi and Mangrove Jack abound at Trinity Inlet, while freshwater fish provides new avenues for the Atherton Tablelands to Tinaroo Dam, Gulf Savannah and Cape York fishing offer an almost endless variety of spectacular locations to enjoy the fishing experience of a lifetime. Rainforests of the Cairns region are another major attractions not to be missed. See an incredible variety of flora and fauna, waterfalls, rivers, lakes and national parks, tropical forests are a magical setting with palm trees 200 years, where everything seems bigger, more colorful and healthy through the trees, leaves and pods. Rainforests are the world heritage in 1988, covering almost one million hectares of lush tropical vegetation. Suddenly I missed Australia after seeing this post. One of my favorite experience in Australia is a few days in The Great Barrier Reef. It is one of the places of Australia that can take away all the pressures and problems in life. Although it only lasted a few days, the memories from the natural beauty of the country is something that will be treasured forever.
