A Day on a Dhow Around Oman's Musandam Peninsula - Highlights and Pleasures
Dhows, with their lateen sails obliquely triangular, evoke images of exotic ports such as Muscat and Zanzibar traders of being guided through the Indian Ocean monsoon, the pearl fishers, fishermen and smugglers. Although still used for trade along the coasts of the Gulf, Oman and the Horn of Africa, dhow is a relaxing way for travelers to enjoy a day on the water and anyone who sailed all protected khors or finger-like inlets, Musandam Peninsula of Oman. Although the experience of each is different, there are at least three important aspects, including the army of pleasure during the day. The physical landscape of Khor Ash Sham pods of dolphins swimming and diving in seventeen crystal input watersThe km long Khor Ash-Sham is a mysterious place of greatness in the silence. Achieving long in the grip of the rock formations and crystal waters seem petrified monsters of the deep, or a prehistoric world, the heights of limestone, while the purple, ocher and reddish 900-1200 feet in the air flying. When the haze of dust carried by winds from the south by the Empty Quarter, overlooking the area, the landscape looks like something the Lord of the Rings, and when the sun sinks low in the evening sky, is almost a sense of right about the height and shadow blackout. Five fishermen in stone and isolated villages scattered along the grass Khor, sitting precariously at the foot of the slopes that suffer regular rock falls, are the only signs of human presence on this earth incredibly difficult. For most people, the appearance of the dolphins is the highlight of the day. They appear as if summoned by an invisible force from nothing and for forty minutes, the game first on one side of the dhow, and then dives under reappear to frolic in the other. They show a challenge for avid photographers. Dhow Each has its own supply of snorkeling gear and there is a long pause to enjoy the waters of the little water, floor Telegraph Island (Jazirat in Maqlab), a famous monument. It is a time in a British telegraph station for five years, established in 1864 to protect the first telegraph cable that ran from India through Musandam in Basra, Iraq. The waters of the island are full of grouper, snapper, stingrays, turtles and hundreds of LaCie Little Disk compressed the butterfly fish-shaped coral polyps with thin snout. Darting in and out of the rock formations, their intricate patterns and vibrant colors capture shafts of sunlight penetrating the widespread dry turquoise. In addition to these lights, there are many pleasures: delicious food raised by the captain, the opportunity to trail a fishing line behind the boat, see the floats and large flocks of birds roost and the changing colors of the rocks, or let the silence Khor and the smooth movement of dhows to guide you in a meditative state.
