Sally: I had walked in Nepal twice, first with my husband, Mark, who has made a childhood dream to go there. In 1987 we went to the Annapurna region, and in 1991 the Everest area, and I really liked this small Himalayan kingdom.I was captivated by the extraordinary sweetness and joy of the Nepalese. Despite their poverty, and life is difficult, none of whom I met in Nepal showed bitter, hostile, or even resigned faces the world. I wanted to know more about them - and I wanted to know what could teach me. Over time I both.Mark whose knee gives him problems, will not return to Nepal. By fortuitous circumstances (described in the book) that he met Margaret Roche, an artist who had also walked in Nepal several times and decided to go together to a remote village in the mountains and stay with local families. How easy or difficult the movement in Nepal and what travelers can expect once you are there? It's easy to get if you do not mind multi hours in the air and at airports to change planes. Arrival in Kathmandu, the capital of North America includes some 20 flight hours. Badel, in the hills southeast of Mount Everest, has reached a 35-minutes flight from Kathmandu to a small airstrip in the town of Lamidanda, and then a three-Trek day, as there are no roads in the country. Kathmandu is a living city, full of half a million. It is full of roaring motorcycles, the beeping of horns by taxi drivers divert some sacred cows resting in the middle of busy streets, and men and children trying to sell carpets or hashish or multi-purpose nostrum "Tiger Balm" The dollar in the market black, or take to rickety bicycle rides rickshaws.Much activity takes place on the road - and in many shops and restaurants serving cuisine from around the world. Religion also takes place in the streets, dotted with Hindu temples and Buddhist temples.Norm: I realized I had written an article in a Passover Seder-Himalaya in Kathmandu. What was that? Sally: Over the last twelve years a group of Lubavitch of Brooklyn (New York) have held an annual celebration of Passover for the sake of the Israeli Embassy in Kathmandu, flying about 250 frozen kosher chickens, countless fish jars fill, and dozens of boxes matzo.Israel Nepal and cooperate with each other since 1960, and Nepal is a popular tourist destination for young Israelis, particularly after completing his military service. About 1,000 Israelis have arrived at this Seder each year, and in 1993 I was fortunate to be able to unite in.Norm: How many of our readers are interested in romantic destinations, it is possible to describe some unique and romantic destinations in Nepal , and Nepal would be recommended as a romantic destination?
