Salmon have always been an important mainstay food source for native peoples of northwest India, and much wildlife in the region including many large birds, bears, and river otters. Therefore, the salmon is a popular theme in art and Northwest Native Indian culture. According to the legend of Northwest native salmon were actually people with superhuman abilities, and life everlasting. People living in big houses salmon under the ocean, but he knew that human beings on Earth are in need of food, which offered land to the tribes of basic foodstuffs increasingly salmon. Their spirits have returned to the ocean where it is reborn. A tribe on earth was short of food, why salmon have reached their waters. But people heard the salmon. So the chief sent an expedition to find these people of salmon in order to ask them to come to its waters. After several days of travel, the expedition reached a new land where people have been salmon. The head of the Salmon people ordered four of its inhabitants to go to sea, where he became a salmon, when the water reached their faces. He ordered others to recover these salmon again, then cooked as a welcome party for guests on the move. The chief said the guests to eat much, but the bones of the salmon, even the smallest, should not be discarded. All the salmon bones were collected by villagers after the guests have been very careful to put in batteries. Salmon People then threw the bones into the water. Minutes later, the four individuals who initially became the salmon came back and joined the others. In the coming days, guests watched the people of this process with salmon salmon bones and again. However, during a party after one of the guests of the expedition secretly retained some bones of salmon. This time, when people returned from salmon out of water that covered his face and said some of the bones must be gone from his cheeks were gone. Another said he had no chin. Alarmed by what had happened, the guest has brought the salmon bones missing deductions. The two salmon with missing body parts then returned to sea with these bones. On his return to earth, salmon, both the people had their body back to full capacity. The expedition leader has asked to be part of the town and visit the waters of rivers for salmon to supply much needed food. The Chief agreed to do that until the tribes have decided to roll back all the bones in water for salmon in Salmon so that people could return home intact. If this was not observed, the tribe was told that the salmon population refused to return to the waters of the tribe. So the tribe is always honored the return of their salmon streams each year by observing the rules established by the people in the head of the salmon. This ensures an adequate food supply for the tribe each year. An interesting fact is that when whites arrived in the region, northwest of the native people of India did not want to sell their salmon to them. It was feared that the salmon not be treated with respect by white men, who were ignorant of the customs and necessary regulations established by the salmon population.
